OCG IN—FOCUS LIVE

OCG LIVE SPECIALS and FEATURED Broadcast Productions

No photo description available.OCG LIVE SPECIALS were extended, issue-focused productions created when an important national issue or a compelling question emerging from a regular OCG broadcast demanded more time, deeper examination, and additional voices.

Some Specials revisited critical issues that remained unresolved or required renewed attention. Others grew directly from the conversation at the OCG microphone: a question raised, an argument challenged, or an important area of inquiry that deserved to be pulled from the larger discussion and explored on its own.

Through OCG Forums and Conferences, we expanded that work into opportunities for learning and public education, often bringing together multiple scholars, activists, journalists, experts, community leaders, and other informed voices to examine an issue from different perspectives. Talk That Matters demands it be given the time it deserves.

The objective was not simply to repeat what had already been said, but to go deeper—to provide history and context, expand the analysis, challenge assumptions, and create the space necessary for greater understanding.

As ALFO often reminded us:

“Truth must be spoken more than once.”

OCG LIVE SPECIALS and FEATURED broadcasts gave us the time and space to do exactly that—to return to the questions that mattered, examine what we had missed, and continue the work until the conversation had taken us somewhere new.

And “Truth must be spoken more than once.” We’re not bringing these conversations forward because they are old—we’re bringing them forward because some truths still require speaking.

OCG LIVE SPECIALS, FORUMS, CONFERENCES, TEACH-INS are extended, issue-focused broadcasts created for moments that demand more than an ordinary program. Bringing together scholars, activists, journalists, community leaders, subject-matter experts, and other critical voices, these special productions provide the time and space to examine important political, social, economic, and cultural issues in greater depth. Through research, analysis, conversation, and audience engagement, OCG  SPECIALS move beyond the headlines to explore the history, forces, and consequences shaping the issue—and the questions of responsibility, response, and action that follow. Talk that matters, when the moment matters most.

“The conversation was the work.”
